After acquiring a Masters degree in English Literature, I went on to do M.Phil and then Ph.D in English from the University of Mumbai, India. I was teaching English language and Literature to Undergraduate students for 8 years. However, my first interest was writing. I have contributed articles to literary magazine and journals. I was writing notes on literature for the undergraduate students of US through pinkmonkey.com.
I started contributing short stories, features and travel articles to Indian magazines and newspapers from 1976. From 2000 to 2003, I was working as a regular reporter on a freelance basis for 'The Times of India' supplement in Mumbai. I wrote on a variety of topics from profiles to features to travel articles.
I came to Johannesburg, South Africa in September 2003. Soon after, I started writing for 'This Day', the South African daily. Later, I started writing for 'Mail & Guardian.' Now I write for two Indian magazines entitled, 'Complete Wellbeing,' & 'btw.' I have also published my first mini-novel 'Om Hari Om' that won a prize inthe short story writing competition.
